The Come Bet

Once the point is decided by the come-out roll the only thing that can affect bets made on the pass-line is a 7 or the point, all other rolls are insignificant. Since it can take quite a few rolls to hit one of those two numbers , the come bet is available for those of you looking for some additional action at table. When betting the come bet every point roll can become an independent come-out roll.

You will only be able to place a come bet after the point has been established during the come-out roll. When placing a come-bet in an online casino offering real money online craps you have to place your wager in the box called “COME”.

Come Bet Rules

  • If a 7 or 11 is rolled you win outright.
  • If a 2, 3 or 12 is rolled you will lose your bet.
  • If the roll is 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 the number rolled will become your point number. If your point number is rolled before a 7 comes up you will win your bet. If the 7 is rolled before your point number you will lose your bet.

Action example of a Come Bet

In this example you have already placed a pass-line bet and it’s out on the board with the established point of 8. This bet will only be decided once a 7 (loss) or 8 (win) is rolled. Before the next roll you decide you want some more action so you place a bet in the “Come” area of the table. After you place your bet it’s time for the shooter to throw the dice, he rolls a 2. This means that your original pass-line bet is not affected by this roll but the Come bet that you just added to the table will be lost as per the rules above.

You decide to give the Come bet another go so you place another stake in the Come box. This time the shooter rolls a 6 and the Come button is moved to the number 6 box. You now have two different games going on and you will win the come bet if a 6 is rolled and the pass-line bet if an 8 is rolled, if a 7 is rolled before wither of those numbers you will lose both bets.

Craps Players on a Hot Streak

You have probably heard about players going on major hot streaks at the craps tables in Las Vegas. The time frame for a hot streak is usually between 30 minutes and an hour. Since the shooter doesn’t change until they roll a 7 there is a lot of money to be won on come bets and pass-line bets during one of these hot streaks.
